Softball Recap: Manvel Takes a Loss

Manvel suffered their biggest loss since February 14th on Saturday. They lost 14-1 to the Dobie Longhorns. The Mavericks have struggled against the Longhorns recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Kaylah Hopkins made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.

Manvel's record is now 8-8. As for Dobie, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Manvel will venture away from home to challenge Pasadena Memorial at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manvel has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Dobie, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-4 win against Dawson on the 17th.
