Recap: White River Valley Wolverines vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings

If the White River Valley Wolverines were riding high off their 55-23 takedown of the Eminence Eels on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The New Year welcomed White River Valley with a 52-24 whooping from Barr-Reeve on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points White River Valley has scored all season.

Barr-Reeve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braydon Knepp led the charge by scoring 13 points along with five assists and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kendall Graber, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.

White River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Barr-Reeve, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

White River Valley will be playing at home against Crothersville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Barr-Reeve, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Washington Catholic: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Barr-Reeve has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
