Basketball Recap: Hillsborough Comes Up Short

After flying high against Franklin last Tuesday, Hillsborough came back down to earth. The Hillsborough Raiders were beaten by the Rutgers Prep Argonauts 80-44 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, with their most recent defeat being a 74-57 loss back in January.

Despite the loss, Hillsborough saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jack Toth posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave Toth a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Feath, who put up six points.

Hillsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Rutgers Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Coming up, Hillsborough will host Phillipsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rutgers Prep, they will face off against Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
