Basketball Game Preview: Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers vs. Mescalero Apache Chiefs

Mesilla Valley Christian School is 1-9 against Mescalero Apache since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers will face off against the Mescalero Apache Chiefs at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Saturday, Mesilla Valley Christian School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-33 to Capitan. The match marked the SonBlazers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mescalero Apache was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to Lordsburg on the road by a 64-46 margin.

Mescalero Apache's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, their loss dropped their record down to 13-2.

Mesilla Valley Christian School was able to grind out a solid victory over Mescalero Apache in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 44-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mesilla Valley Christian School since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
