            Baseball Recap: Cumberland Gap Panthers vs. Pineville Mountain Lions        
        
		
        
        
            After low-scoring totals in their previous five  game, Cumberland Gap brought some dynamite into their most recent  matchup. They put the hurt on the Pineville Mountain Lions with a sharp  18-6 win on Wednesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Mountain Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  victory against them.

 Tate Murphy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with three  runs. Cumberland Gap is 10-1 when  Murphy posts two or  more  runs, but 1-14 otherwise.
 In other batting news, Cumberland Gap got a  massive  performance out of  Hudson Harris, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with four  runs, four  RBI,  and two  doubles. That's the most  hits  Harris has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Noah Meyer, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Cumberland Gap was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .524. They are 3-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Cumberland Gap's record now sits at 11-15. As for Pineville,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 4-9 record.
 Cumberland Gap does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pineville, they will square off against Middlesboro at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Mountain Lions are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on  an  11-game losing streak.
