Despite the loss, Imagine Prep had strong showings from Jaylen Cassidy, who scored 22 points along with five assists, and Hayden Kelton, who scored 18 points. The match was Cassidy's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Richard Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.93 points. As for Imagine Prep, their loss ended a 16-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way will take on Dream City Christian Open at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Imagine Prep, they will be playing at home against West Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Phoenix is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
