Basketball Recap: Newcomb Comes Up Short

Newcomb was the 67-55 winner over Wingate when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Newcomb Skyhawks lost 72-52 to the Wingate Bears on Saturday. The Skyhawks just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Newcomb's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Wingate, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Newcomb will venture away from home to square off against Tohatchi at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tohatchi will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Newcomb surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wingate, they will welcome Navajo Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
