Simla is 6-1 against Calhan since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cubs will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. This will be Simla's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Simla is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Sedgwick County, who was ranked fifth at the time (Simla was ranked 18th). The Cubs and the Cougars were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Cubs suffered a 24-23 loss. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Evan Guy, who threw for 221 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 43 yards. Simla's leading receiver Tatum Kocerha was Guy's top target yet again, picking up 151 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. Calhan fell 18-14 to Elbert.

Calhan now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Simla, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Simla against Calhan when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cubs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
