Football Game Preview: Walton Braves vs. Maclay Marauders + Official Tickets

The Walton Braves will challenge the Maclay Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walton will be strutting in after a victory while Maclay will be coming in after a defeat.

Walton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 68-28 win over Freeport. The victory was some much needed relief for the Braves as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Walton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Tristian Powell, Judea Holmes, Charlie Womble, and Brady Womble picked up one apiece. Brady has been hot, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last six times he's played.

Meanwhile, Maclay took a blow against Deerfield-Windsor on Friday, falling 42-14.

Walton's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Maclay, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Walton against Maclay when the teams last played back in September of 2022, as the squad secured a 45-14 victory. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Marauders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
