Football Recap: Uniontown Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Uniontown unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 27-0 loss at the hands of the Laurel Highlands Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 230th).

Gio Guerriere was nothing short of spectacular for Laurel Highlands: he rushed for 76 yards and two scores. Those 76 rushing yards gave Guerriere a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Nicholas Crouch, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Coming up, Uniontown is headed away from home for the first time to take on Perry Traditional Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Laurel Highlands, they will welcome Ambridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
