Baseball Recap: Blair Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hill School on Monday, Blair Academy came back down to earth. The Bucs fell just short of the Mercersburg Academy Storm by a score of 16-14 on Wednesday. The Bucs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Brady Hoffman led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Harrison Aillet, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Blair Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11-1 record this season. As for Mercersburg Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mercersburg Academy beat Blair Academy by a score of 19-10 later that day.
