Baseball Recap: Evansville Central Drops Highest Score of Season Against Evansville Bosse

While Evansville Central put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Evansville Bosse. The Bears were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Bears' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Not much got past Cooper Nurrenbern, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Evansville Bosse off the board.

At the plate, Evansville Central let Jayden Walter and Jaxton Reeder run wild. Walter went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Reeder went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Reeder has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon DeJarnette, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Evansville Central hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Evansville Bosse struck out seven times.

Evansville Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Evansville Bosse, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
