Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Carlisle County

Carlisle County had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past the Hickman County Falcons 11-1. Considering the Comets have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Koltyn Perez made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carlisle County is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise. Perez was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Carlisle County let Lawsin Moore and Caysen Mitchell run wild. Moore got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI, while Mitchell went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Mitchell has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasen Perez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Carlisle County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Hickman County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-17 record this season.

As of now, neither Carlisle County nor Hickman County have any future games scheduled.
