Softball Recap: Midland Valley Falls Short of South Florence in the Playoffs

Midland Valley and South Florence squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Midland Valley had to settle for second. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bruins. The Mustangs have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Midland Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallorie Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Midland Valley's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for South Florence, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

As of now, neither Midland Valley nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
