Game recap: Walled Lake Western High School Football Team defeats Grand Blanc

WALLED LAKE, Mich. - Grand Blanc (Mich.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 18 in Michigan, but was stunned by Walled Lake Western (Walled Lake, Mich.), 45-27. Walled Lake Western was ranked at No. 42 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Michigan coming into the week.

After taking the lead on a field goal by Kyle Bambard in the first quarter, the Warriors led 24-20 at the half.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at four entering the fourth.

The loss snapped Grand Blanc's six-game winning streak.

The Bobcats came in surrendering 13.3 points per game this season. Grand Blanc struggled against Walled Lake Western's offense, which entered the game scoring 38.6 points per game.



A 40-29 Walled Lake Western victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The loss comes after Grand Blanc defeated Hartland 17-7 last week.

In a non-conference game next week Walled Lake Western (8-0) takes on Northville, and Grand Blanc (6-2) will go up against Plymouth also in a non-conference game.
