Soccer Game Preview: Erie vs. Fort Collins

The Erie Tigers will face off against the Fort Collins Lambkins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Erie is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Fairview, who was ranked 18th at the time (Erie was ranked 20th). The Tigers came up short against the Knights on Thursday, falling 5-1. It was the first time this season that Erie let down their fans at home.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Fort Collins made sure to put some goals up on the board against Loveland on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Red Wolves with a sharp 9-1 victory. Fort Collins haven't had any issues with Loveland recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Fort Collins' offense was hitting Loveland from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Elyse McGinnis led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Erie's loss dropped their record down to 7-2-2. As for Fort Collins, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7-1.

Everything went Erie's way against Fort Collins when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Erie made off with a 4-1 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Lambkins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
