Volleyball Recap: Indian Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Zoey Braun and Gionna Miles

Indian Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans, falling 3-0. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Indian Valley ultimately came up short, they really made Tuscarawas Valley work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 31-29, 25-20, 25-23.

Indian Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Gionna Miles and Zoey Braun. Miles had 26 digs and four assists, while Braun had 11 digs and two assists. Miles has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Indian Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Tuscarawas Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Indian Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Claymont on the 27th. As for Tuscarawas Valley, they will challenge Sandy Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
