Basketball Recap: Salem Sayers Baptist Academy Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Salem Sayers Baptist Academy kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 36-35 to the Boerne Area Christian HomeSchoolers Red Hawks. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Despite the loss, Salem Sayers Baptist Academy still got an impressive performance from David Jorgensen, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 17 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Joseph Jorgensen, who posted four points in addition to five boards and three steals.

The victory got Boerne Area Christian HomeSchoolers back to even at 1-1.

Salem Sayers Baptist Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-30 win against Gloria Deo Academy on the 7th. As for Boerne Area Christian HomeSchoolers, they have also already played their next contest, a 40-35 defeat against McCauley Christian Academy on the 6th.
