Lane Tech waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Downers Grove North Trojans get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given Lane Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Downers Grove North are ranked 107th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rebecca LoVerde and Luzmarie Razo scored both of Lane Tech's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Lane Tech's victory bumped their record up to 9-1-2. As for Downers Grove North, they now have a losing record of 3-4-4.

Lane Tech didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 win against Payton College Prep on the 28th. As for Downers Grove North, they will challenge Glenbard West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenbard West's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
