Soccer Game Preview: Memphis Central vs. Southwind

The Memphis Central Warriors will challenge the Southwind Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwind took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Memphis Central, who comes in off a win.

Memphis Central headed into their last game having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but White Station let them put that streak behind them. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Spartans 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for Memphis Central as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Southwind was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Whitehaven.

Memphis Central's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Southwind, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Memphis Central took their win against Southwind in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
