Basketball Recap: DeKalb County Victorious

DeKalb County fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They secured a 53-49 W over the Clarkrange Buffaloes on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Clarkrange lost, don't look at Bryton Swallows. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 11 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was Swallows' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Mason McWhirter was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

DeKalb County's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Clarkrange, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

DeKalb County will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Smith County at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Clarkrange and Sunbright will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Clarkrange is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season.
