Peninsula won the last time they faced Central Kitsap and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Seahawks never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The game was the first time the Seahawks have beaten the Cougars on their field since March 29, 2022.

The result came thanks to Kaleb Copeland's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.

On the hitting side, Peninsula's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jonathon Vergara-Dykes, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Peninsula and bumps their season record up to 13-6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Central Kitsap, they moved to 10-9-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Peninsula will face off against Curtis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Seahawks 2.1, the Vikings 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Central Kitsap, they will look to defend their home field on the 9th against North Kitsap at 5:00 p.m.
