Softball Recap: Shadyside Has No Trouble Against Beallsville

Shadyside had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Beallsville on Monday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Kaylie Warnock and Kara Zeroski did most of the damage at the plate: Warnock went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Zeroski got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Zeroski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Parker, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Shadyside hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Shadyside's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Beallsville, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Shadyside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
