Baseball Game Preview: Leigh Longhorns vs. Scotts Valley Falcons

The Leigh Longhorns will challenge the Scotts Valley Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Leigh has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Leigh didn't have quite enough to beat Branham and fell 6-5.

Meanwhile, Scotts Valley made easy work of San Lorenzo Valley on Thursday and carried off a 13-2 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Lukas Bloom, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Isaac Martin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Leigh's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Scotts Valley, their win bumped their record up to 12-14.

Leigh couldn't quite get it done against Scotts Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2023 as they fell 4-1. Can the Longhorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
