Soccer Recap: Greene County Comes Up Short

Greene County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They came up short against the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Greene County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Colfax-Mingo are ranked 77th).

Greene County's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Colfax-Mingo, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1-5.

Looking ahead, Greene County will host Nevada at 5:30 p.m. on the 13th. As for Colfax-Mingo, they are taking a road trip to square off against Clarke at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colfax-Mingo will be up against Clarke's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.3 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
