Last Tuesday, South Side was able to grind out a solid victory over Mt. Vernon-Enola, taking the game 8-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for South Side.

Meanwhile, Quitman had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Cedar Ridge out 2-1.

Ethan Thurman tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over 7.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Greyson Ealy was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last five games he's played.

South Side's record now sits at 13-8. As for Quitman, their record is now 5-12.

Everything went South Side's way against Quitman in their previous meeting back in March as South Side made off with a 9-0 win.
