Baseball Recap: Dixon Takes a Loss

Dixon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Byron Tigers, falling 16-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Thursday.

Dixon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Kirchoff, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Dixon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Byron, the win was the 22nd in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-4.

Coming up, Dixon will challenge Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dukes & Duchesses' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Byron, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Boone at 4:30 p.m. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
