Mineral Ridge hadn't done well against Springfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Tigers. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Nick Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Anderson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Mineral Ridge got a great performance from Preston Kline as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, AJ Sandy was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Ethan Vestorsky was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Mineral Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Springfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Mineral Ridge will face off against Garfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will square off against LaBrae at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
