Modoc waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Mt. Shasta Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Friday.

Caelli DePaul made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

DePaul wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Abigail DePaul, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Modoc pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Shasta, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10-1.
