Basketball Recap: Christian Gayle Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Waterford's game on Monday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They secured a 43-37 W over the Le Grand Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 82-25 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waterford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Gayle, who posted 14 points. Gayle continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Matthew Martinez was another key player, putting up nine points.

Waterford moved to 10-15 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Le Grand, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-20.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterford will take on Gustine at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Waterford is facing Gustine at the right time seeing as Gustine is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Le Grand, they will square off against Mariposa County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
