Basketball Game Preview: Idea Timberwolves vs. SEED DC

The Idea Timberwolves will head out to take on SEED DC at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Idea is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

Idea is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 68-48 to KIPP DC Legacy College Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Timberwolves have suffered against the Bulldogs since February 4, 2020.

Despite the defeat, Idea had strong showings from Tobias Hammett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards, and Sidy Koite, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hammett a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaidyn Lewis, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, SEED DC faced Dunbar in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. SEED DC fell 61-51 to Dunbar. SEED DC's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

SEED DC's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Idea, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Idea beat SEED DC 79-67 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Idea since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
