Football Recap: Geneva Classical Academy Wins High-Profile Game Against All Saints' Academy

Geneva Classical Academy faced All Saints' Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights walked away with a 58-46 victory over the Saints.

Geneva Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Clay Lindsay led the charge by rushing for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 228 yards and four TDs while completing 81.5% of his passes. Lindsay's passing game has become a key predictor of the Knights' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-5 otherwise. Another pass catcher making a difference was Bennett Bayhan, who gained 157 total yards and four touchdowns.

All Saints' Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trey Bellotto, who threw for 146 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and Joshua Koch, who picked up 117 receiving yards and three scores. Koch showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 52 yards.

Geneva Classical Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for All Saints' Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Coming up, Geneva Classical Academy will face off against Bradenton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. All Saints' Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
