Basketball Recap: Konos Academy Comes Up Short

Konos Academy had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Southeastern HomeSchool Cardinals and fell 77-45. The Condor have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Several Condor players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson McFadden, who shot 83% from the field en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Callum Franke, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points and seven rebounds.

Southeastern HomeSchool's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Brutus, who shot 72% from the field on his way to 29 points and six boards. What's more, Brutus also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daniel Boehling, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Southeastern HomeSchool has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Konos Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-35 victory against Central Georgia Arts on the 1st. As for Southeastern HomeSchool, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-55 defeat against Hills Academy on the 1st.
