Basketball Game Preview: Brandon Academy Scorpions vs. Lake Region Thunder

The Brandon Academy Scorpions will be taking part in a tournament against the Lake Region Thunder at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brandon Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

Brandon Academy will head into Saturday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune last Saturday. They took a blow against Indian Rocks Christian, falling 74-21. The game marked the Scorpions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Brandon Academy had strong showings from Rashad Carriera, who posted seven points along with five boards and three steals, and Chris Harris, who had four points and five rebounds. Harris is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Lake Region was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Moore Haven.

Brandon Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Lake Region, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
