Baseball Recap: Vanlue Comes Up Short

Vanlue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 26th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-0 to the Van Buren Black Knights. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Black Knights from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Vanlue saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Toby Reed, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Vanlue's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Van Buren, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Vanlue will take on rival Arcadia at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Van Buren is set to square off against their familiar foe Elmwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Black Knights have won four straight at home, while the Royals won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
