Softball Recap: Longmont Trojans vs. Holy Family Tigers
Longmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-3 to the Holy Family Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Skylar Becker was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Avery Wolfsberger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Longmont's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Holy Family, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.
Longmont will venture away from home to square off against Mead at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mead is coming into the match with four straight victories at home, so Longmont will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Holy Family, they will welcome Monarch at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
