Mississinawa Valley suffers fifth straight loss on the road

The Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of National Trail. Mississinawa Valley has struggled against National Trail recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Mississinawa Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cing Scott, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Kyle Wehrkamp was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Mississinawa Valley were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Mississinawa Valley's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for National Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Mississinawa Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Newton Local at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for National Trail, they will head out on the road to face off against Preble Shawnee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Preble Shawnee is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
