Volleyball Recap: West Point-Beemer Cadets vs. South Sioux City Cardinals

West Point-Beemer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the South Sioux City Cardinals. The Cadets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

West Point-Beemer was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made South Sioux City work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 26-24.

Katrina Moyer paced West Point-Beemer's offense, picking up eight kills. Moyer got some help from Campbell Consbruck and her 23 assists. Finally, Ellie Bruning kept West Point-Beemer's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Leading South Sioux City to victory were Somarah Watts and Mati McBride. Watts had 20 digs and two assists, while McBride had ten digs. Watts has been hot, having posted 17 or more digs the last five times she's played.

West Point-Beemer's loss dropped their record down to 10-19. As for South Sioux City, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.

West Point-Beemer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Sioux City, they will take on Ralston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
