South Mecklenburg posted their biggest victory since February 27, 2024 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves as the South Mecklenburg Sabres made off with a 69-46 win. Given the Sabres' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Wolves are ranked 567th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Mecklenburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Myles Howard, who went 6 for 8 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Houpt, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

South Mecklenburg has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Ballantyne Ridge, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Coincidentally, South Mecklenburg and Ballantyne Ridge will both be playing Myers Park the next time they take the court. South Mecklenburg will head out to face Myers Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Ballantyne Ridge will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
