The New Oxford Colonials will host the Spring Grove Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Oxford is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Two weeks ago, New Oxford made easy work of Eastern York and carried off a 44-20 win. Given the Colonials' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Golden Knights are ranked 265th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Oxford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Brown, who rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Brody Holmes, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Another reason for the win was New Oxford's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Travis Covington and Brogan Klunk, who racked up four sacks between them. Klunk has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last six times he's played. Brayden Billman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for New Oxford, racking up 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Holmes, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.
Meanwhile, Spring Grove never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Muhlenberg 35-0. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Muhls: they've now won three in a row.
Spring Grove's win came from a few key players New Oxford will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Davis Baum, who rushed for 56 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 121 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brody Redding, who rushed for 122 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
New Oxford's record now sits at 10-0. As for Spring Grove, their record is now 8-3.
New Oxford took their win against Spring Grove in their previous matchup back in September of 2019 by a conclusive 44-21 score. Will the Colonials repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
