Recap: Amesbury Redhawks vs. Lawrence Lancers
The Amesbury Redhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 52-36 fall against Lawrence. Amesbury was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lawrence apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.
Despite the loss, Amesbury saw an underclassman step up: Ellison Talbot scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Celia Tavares, who scored seven points.
Amesbury's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lawrence, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amesbury won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fitchburg at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Lawrence, they will look to defend their home court on January 5, 2024 against Billerica Memorial at 7:00 p.m.
