Football Game Preview: Hanson Memorial vs. Vermilion Catholic

Vermilion Catholic will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Hanson Memorial at 7:00 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Vermilion Catholic made easy work of Erath last week and carried off a 34-11 victory. Sophomore Drew Lege was the offensive standout of the match for Vermilion Catholic, as he passed for 267 yards and 4 touchdowns. Near the top of the highlight reel was Lege's 70-yard TD bomb to Ethan Lege in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout to Morgan City in their previous contest, Hanson Memorial were happy to find some success. Hanson Memorial blew past Westminster Academy 40-6. Hanson Memorial were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Their wins bumped Hanson Memorial to 1-2 and Vermilion Catholic to 3-0. Hanson Memorial's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Vermilion Catholic defensive front that amassed six sacks against Erath, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
