Recap: First Philadelphia Prep vs. Sayre Sabres
On Thursday, First Philadelphia Prep lost to Sayre on the road by a decisive 42-27 margin. First Philadelphia Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
First Philadelphia Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khayr Graves, who scored 10 points. Graves scored a full 37% of First Philadelphia Prep's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mckevin Azard was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Sayre can attribute much of their success to Darnell White, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Rollins, who scored 9 points.
First Philadelphia Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sayre, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Philadelphia Prep will square off against Benjamin Franklin at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Benjamin Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday. As for Sayre, they will head out on the road to face off against Tacony Academy Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tacony Academy Charter is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
