Baseball Recap: Higley Comes Up Short

Higley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-2 to the Desert Ridge Jaguars. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in April of 2016.

Higley got a good showing from Fernando Alonzo, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Alonzo has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cam Jantz was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Higley's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Desert Ridge, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-11.

While Higley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
