Rio Rancho lost against Cleveland back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rio Rancho Rams were dealt a 40-12 defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Storm. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

Loss or not, Rio Rancho got some senior leadership from Jace Pitt and Jj Arellano. Pitt picked up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Arellano threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Those 250 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Arellano.

Isaiah Yannis was his usual excellent self, rushing for 161 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry for Cleveland. Those 161 rushing yards gave Yannis a new career-high. Jordan Hatch was another key player, throwing for 187 yards and a touchdown.

Rio Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cleveland, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Rio Rancho's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sandia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Micah Takahashi and Jahleel Lewis. Cleveland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
