Basketball Game Preview: Berkley Bears vs. Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors

The Berkley Bears are taking a road trip to square off against the Southfield Arts & Tech Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Monday, Berkley humbled North Farmington with a 69-36 victory. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Raiders are ranked 508th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Southfield Arts & Tech waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Pioneers, posting a 68-17 win.

Southfield Arts & Tech is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Berkley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Berkley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Southfield Arts & Tech in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 46-42 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berkley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
