Volleyball Recap: St. Pius X Beats Highland for Their 15th Straight Victory

St. Pius X entered their tilt with Highland on Thursday with 14 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 15. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in October.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: St. Pius X took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-4, 25-13.

St. Pius X can attribute much of their success to Maya Perea, who had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Perea has posted since back in October. Sophia Eakes also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: St. Pius X was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matchups.

St. Pius X's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-22.

St. Pius X didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Kirtland Central on the 13th. Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
