Basketball Game Preview: Bear Creek Bears vs. Lakewood Tigers

Bear Creek is on a three-game streak of home losses, Lakewood a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The Bear Creek Bears will host the Lakewood Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bear Creek is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Valor Christian on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Bear Creek took a blow against Valor Christian, falling 100-18. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-8.

Meanwhile, Lakewood was beaten by Columbine 70-42 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Rebels are ranked 26th).

Bear Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Bear Creek was taken down by Lakewood 64-26 in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bear Creek was down 36-16.
