Softball Recap: Desert Hills Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Desert Hills ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Salem Hills Skyhawks. The win continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Skyhawks: they've now won four in a row.

Riley Greene was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Lily Ringel also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Desert Hills pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Salem Hills, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-2.

Coming up, Desert Hills will venture away from home to take on Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salem Hills, they will host Wasatch at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Skyhawks are facing the Wasps at the right time seeing as the Wasps are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
