Softball Game Preview: Frostproof Bulldogs vs. DeSoto County Bulldogs

Frostproof will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on DeSoto County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Frostproof is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Lakeland. Frostproof was the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over Lakeland on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Jordan Brantley, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Menzie Neal was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, DeSoto County posted their biggest victory since March 19, 2024 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bonita Springs as DeSoto County made off with a 10-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Mya Goodnoe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Goodnoe was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Emery Skinner was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jada Jones, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
